“Honoring Nicho” (back side) - ©2018 Lorena Angulo - Bronze, paper clay, acrylics, resin, coral, pearls and brass wire. This piece is inspired by the celebration of Día de Muertos (Day of the dead) in Mexico. The butterflies are a symbol of the spirit (soul) of our loved ones who are coming to say hello to us during our celebration. We honor them by remembering with joy their life. The two days we celebrate are full of color, offerings, music, flowers, food and family time.
