Today we remember in prayer the resourcing groups around the world who raise much-needed awareness and funds for MAF’s mission and sends missionaries to the field. Our UK office is based in Folkestone, Kent and headed up by MAF UK CEO Ruth Whitaker. We are concluding our Week of Prayer with a Facebook live event on the MAF UK page, starting at 6pm (GMT), with special guest Rebecca King - Prophet and daughter of MAF co-founder Stuart King. This is an event not to be missed!
Today we lift up all the wonderful advances in technology that help keep MAF aircraft safe in the air, like avionics and electronic flight bags containing ipads, to the technology that helps us spread the Gospel to the unreached, like audio and WiFi Bibles. Today, we lift up the 138 light aircraft stationed around the world in the MAF programmes, without which our work would not be possible. MAF was founded on the desire to see aircraft used for good instead of war, and MAF have been doing so for 75 years! MAF UK offers regular prayer resources to fuel your prayers for MAF throughout the year, including our quarterly Prayer Diary, a monthly devotion and a weekly News for Prayer email. We hope you will be encouraged and inspired by our Partner in Prayer videos, this time focusing on the verse ‘Be Still and know that I am God’ Psalm 46:10 It’s a small verse, but it speaks in so many ways to each one of us. Different members of the MAF family share what it means to them - the solace they find in it, and the motivation it gives them. In this video, David Leek, Head of Human Resources at MAF UK and former Pilot for MAF, explains what the verse means to him.
In this prayer video, MAF co-founder Stuart King explains why South Sudan has been on his heart since 1945, and still needs our prayers as much today as ever before. The way we serve God as individuals or as teams is just a small part of His divine plan, and we know from the book of Habakkuk, that His timing is beyond our understanding. Whilst we can’t know when or how God will answer us, what we can do is have faith and pray.
Through our partner in prayer videos, we have been looking at what it means to ‘be still and know I am God’ – Psalm 46:10. In this video MAF’s Emily Gregoriou shares some practical tips on how we can live out this truth in our everyday lives. We hope it speaks to you today.
