Porthcurno north Cornwall . I have shot a number of images recently around Cornwall for a calendar company for 2014 . I was asked to shot them in the middle of the day , something I am not used to doing as i normally go for the low light moody type of image around the golden hour , i have never seen some of these places at this time of day and they look stunning and i relies now what i have been missing . Best viewed 'Original' size. If any locomotive could be considered as controversial it was this 1945 Thompson rebuild of Gresley's first GNR production A1 Pacific 1470 "Great Northern". Here it is in rebuilt form as BR class A1/1 60113 passing the (disused) racecourse platforms at York with the down "Anglo-Scottish Car Carrier" - c.08/1962. A Doncaster (36A) allocated locomotive at the time of this image, 60113 was withdrawn just three months later in November 1962 and had been dismantled by…
