Agnes Richter- asylum embroidery jacket - the linen jacket above was made by Agnes Richter, a seamstress and patient in an Austrian asylum during the late 1800′s. She constructed the jacket from cloth typically used in the institution and embroidered her story onto the jacket. (In those days women were often considered "insane' because they had a mind of their own).

I drafted the pattern for this dress then with free motion stitching I filled the back entirely with poems and even some hidden journaling (I did this by sewing on the reverse side of the dress) I even add a poem that is very dear to me inside the pockets of the dress. blogged here:
