Workmen clearing snow to allow tubs to travel to Pennyvenie for treatment at Beoch No.4 Colliery, 1950. Beoch was the highest located coal mine in Scotland, at 1100ft, and occasionally suffered from severe winter weather. The colliery was situated in Dalmellington, Ayrshire.
