European Robin (Erithacus rubecula), most commonly known in Anglophone Europe simply as the Robin, is a small insectivorous passerine bird that was formerly classed as a member of the thrush family (Turdidae), but is now considered to be a chat.

I love to hear a robin singing--it often means that spring has arrived or that a good needed rain is on its way./ Maybe he's singing the old hymn, What a Friend, we have in Jesus!

A neighbour found a robin standing guard on his fork handle. I can’t imagine any other bird doing that.” (A Funeral for and Owl,

European Robin, now these are the Robins that I love, I loved hearing them especially when out walking in a place called Mad Bess Woods

British Robins .Wherever I've lived there has always been a robin who has totally befriended me - It's unusual to see two sitting together like this; despite their endearing image they are very aggressive little birds, and will fight to the death over their territory.

can't beat them! Wherever I've lived there has always been a robin who has totally befriended me - and I've always named them "Tim" in honour of one of my fave authors Derek Tangye, who wrote about one in his books ♥ It's unusual to see
