N is just pretty to look at (0,0) Fine I'll take a serious approach.. N is tossing in the air Rubix cube like wooden puzzle block. This tells players that he's smart and inquisitive and given his simple clothing/lack of belongings that he leads a simplistic, if not, materialistic free life. And his face displays a calm and happy facial expression leaving players to assume he's kind hearted.
Needed an angry/determined looking character. Simply by pulling his hat in to place and his facial features we can can grasp the magnitude of the situation and that the character takes battling seriously.
Again another diverse array of characters with pokemon to match their personalities. What's more interesting is their posture and how they're interacting with their pokemon will furthermore conveys to the player their personality/character.
From this picture we can see that Cynthia cares deeply for her Garchomp and visa versa. Just some simple limb placement, eye direction, facial intensity and you can easily convey to the player what the character is like simply by looking at them and not have to spell it out to the player in words.
With Riley and his companion Lucario. The player is somewhat able to piece what sort of personality type this character is (also by his clothing) so when drawing characters I'll keep in mind that if they have an item, be sure it helps convey who/what the character is to the player.
A somewhat diverse bunch of your typical anime style girls. Never really liked the generic anime style as the characters, for me, look very alien like. However from simply looking at the picture you can tell what personalities are attached to the characters. And identifying what characters are like is crucial in a Visual Novel.
