In this image I love the idea of the map shaped as a hand, as I feel it gives as insight into someones life. I would love to bring fragments of someones life into one picture, as similarly shown here.

This is an interesting idea. Create your personal map. map to your heart? map to your world?

Ed Fairburn, "Deutschland," ink on a 1977 road map of Germany. The work I produce is largely figurative, and through the exploration of the human form I examine the patterns and structures which exist across the body. Emphasis is placed on the ‘fragmented’ texture of the skin, a process which has encouraged my work to evolve from its occupation of plain paper to the potential occupation of other, pre-fragmented or pre-patterned surfaces.

Stunning Ink and Pencil Portraits on Maps - Great Creative Imagination project. All students would be given a paper map for this project.

Fragments of the city. I love the way different aspects of New York city have been brought in together to form a colourful piece. I my work I would also like to bring in fragments of the same type of thing into one.
