One of several spectacular waterfalls found in the Mellte Valley in the Brecon Beacons, Sgwd Yr Eira, meaning "fall of snow," can be reached from the car park at the Porth yr Ogof cave, where the river disappears underground, or from Pontneddfechan, the nearest village. A track links the two starting points and gives walkers access to five different falls.
