The Bondage of The Soil (Novella)

The Bondage of the Soil is my first upcoming full-length novel, and a sequel to my first published novella, The Battle of Watling Street. The story takes place in a village close to the Icknield Way, the oldest road in Britain. The preparations for a new relief road cause profound disturbances to the local area and its inhabitants. These pictures feature some of the landmarks, themes and events in the story. http://www.margaretmcgoverne.com

Queen Boudica (d. 60/61 AD) was queen of the British Iceni tribe who led a revolt against occupying forces of the Roman Empire. Upon her husband's death, the Empire annexed her state, publicly flogged her, and raped her daughters. She razed Londinium (modern day London), Verulamium (St Albans) and Camulodunum (Colchester), causing Nero to briefly consider withdrawing Roman control from Britain. Boudica was eventually defeated by Suetonius and either killed herself or died of illness.

Boadicea commanded an army that lead a revolt against the occupying forces of the Roman Empire in Britain. At the outset Boudica employed a form of divination, releasing a hare from the folds of her dress and interpreting the direction in which it ran, and invoked Andraste, a British goddess of victory.

Superluminal travel in Einstein's universe

In the video below, Business Insider tries to capture everything we know about the evolution of the Universe so far into about less than 3 minutes. And I certainly have to say, the condensed history of how we exist is pretty damn awesome.
