Queens' College is one of the oldest colleges in Cambridge, and contains some architectural marvels, including this stunning medieval dining hall which dates from 1451 with later additions, including from the Victorian era.
May Ball happens at any one of the colleges of the University of Cambridge at the end of the academic yr. They're formal affairs, requiring evening dress, (some white tie). The balls are held in the college gardens, lasting from around 6-9 p.m. until well after dawn, with some colleges offering rides in balloons when the ball ends, and even breakfast in Paris, or, more traditionally, punting to Grantchester. "Survivors photographs" are taken of those who last until morning.
