Redcliffe Caves, Bristol. Underneath a terrace of houses there are artificial caves carved out of the red cliffs that the houses stand on. The product of eighteenth century mining. These cliffs are honey-combed with tunnels constructed both to extract sand for the local glass making industry and to act as store houses for goods.
