When conducting our ocean research this year, my students and I needed to find a way to record the information we were learning from informational text. I have used Have, Can, Are charts in the past and they worked wonders for this unit! Project/Learning Activity: This project is from the June/July 2007 Kindergarten/1st grade Mailbox Magazine Cut a wave out of blue construction paper. Color the top half of a piece of paper with blue crayon and glue the wave to the bottom half. Add sea/ocean stickers to the wave. Write - What Do You See Under the Sea? over the blue crayon. My kids have spent the last 8 weeks learning about the ocean! I thought I would share some of the fun things that we have done during our ocean unit because they might make fun end of school year activities. This one is backwards but oh well. For our under the sea unit. "What I see under the sea" book. Have students cut color the goggles and cut out the inside part. Laminate so it is see through. Next is cover page then on the next pages students draw or use stickers of what sea creatures. On each page they write "I see a ___." staple a bendy straw and voila! They loved it.
