A 41 bus, in Manchester red, in a version of Albert Sq passing the Town Hall. Unusually an artist is given "SRP" but sadly only the initials. The bus appears to be GVR 122 - fleet number 2026 - a 1948

The Apollo in 1950
Here's the Apollo in 1950 showing 'Fury at Furnace Creek' starring Victor Mature. The Apollo is still standing although you might know it better as a theatre and live music venue nowadays. Opened in 1938, the Apollo Theatre was designed by architects Peter Cummings and Alex M. Irvine. The interior decorations were carried out by noted interior designer Mollo & Egan with the Holophane lighting designed by R. Gillespie Williams. It's provided or influenced the soundtrack to the city, from the bands - Joy Division, New Order, ACR, Durutti Column, Happy Mondays, Northside, James and OMD; to the Hacienda, Dry Bar, the film '24 Hour Party People'; and the current club FAC251 in the old Factory Records HQ.

Empezaamos a las 20 hs con las habituales fallas técnicas, despúes algunos cortos y finalmente la pelicula.
