Have students draw a big scribble on their page. Remind them to leave big spaces in their scribble! Using colored pencils, they can then fill the spaces with their spelling or word wall words. You could also do this for math facts.

Contractions Activity: Simply label large legos with the parts of contractions and then label others with the actual contraction. Mix them all up and have students put them all together, matching the parts with their contraction.
Could be good for word work station. Write a boring adjective at the bottom of the paint strip on the most boring color. Give each student a paint strip and they can use a thesaurus or a word wall to think of "more colorful" words for their strip.
