Detox Tea Laxative Effect
Detox teas generally seem to work as a laxative. You don't need them for anything. You look after your health - mental and physical - with a balanced diet. If you're doing that then your liver and kidneys will be able to take care of the detox process your body needs. Save your money - detox teas don't work.
Life Doesn't Happen On Food Labels
Nutrition is important. What you put in your body is important. But don't let obsessing over fat or calories or sugar or protein or whatever else stop you from living your life or stressing out about being less than perfect. Diet culture has us believing we need to deprive and punish ourselves when we actually need the opposite. Nourish and thrive not punish and survive!
There's more to life than weight
Episode 4 of the podcast is out. I've found that one of the best ways to help people break up with the scales and diet culture is to take the energy and focus that goes into weight and calories and shift it to tracking more important things. And when you start to do that, you build confidence, your fitness goes up, your health improves and most importantly you start to feel happy across all areas of life - and if not, you know exactly what you need to do to fix that.
Eat the foods you enjoy
I don't know who needs to hear this today but: You CAN eat foods that you enjoy! You DONT have to eat: 🚫cauliflower pizza crust 🚫green smoothies 🚫celery juice 🚫or any of that diet culture crap that you do not ENJOY eating! 👉 What REALLY works when it comes to health: ✅ A +ve relationship with food ✅ A +ve relationship with your body Thats it. Really.
Fitter Body Plan
Forcing yourself to workout is not always helpful. If you're already mentally and physically exhausted, a forced workout will > Risk injury > Stress you out > Burn you out more If it's not safe. If you hate the workout or training plan you're on, you're going to get put off exercise. And the worst one of all... If you are doing it as a punishment to make up for something you ate. Please don't. Fitness should empower & energise, NOT harm or punish you.
