Huishoek: Creating seasonal environments is a way of demonstrating and preparing for real-world situations.

Salt tray math game - have child count (or subitize) the dots on the card, then write the number in the salt. On the back of the card is the correct number so the child can check their work.

Counting is so important, that we wanted to let you guys in on some fantastic activities that didn't make it into story time. This is the Number Writing Salt Tray Game, which is a great idea for kids to practice number recognition and writing skills.

Practicing fine motor manipulation of hand movements to help promote handwriting skills in the sand. Prompt cards are used for children to copy the shapes.
