D9502 in the Forest of Dean
D9502 is working a megre coal train out of the Forest of Dean in March 1965. These Swindon built Paxman engined diesel Hydraulic type 1 locomotives had a very short life on B.R. their introduction in 1964 coincided with the ending if the light freight duties they were intended for

'Warship' diesel hydraulic No. D817 'Foxhound' waits to depart from Exeter St Davids on 22nd May 1971 with a service for London Waterloo. New from Swindon Works in March 1960, it was withdrawn from Newton Abbot (83A) in October 1971 and cut-up at it's birthplace during March 1972.

An interloper at Acton yard,sadly not on a cross-London freight,as a pair of hymeks busy themselves.Always had a soft spot for these type 1's and thankfully one is preserved.Barring phot's of them as train heating units think l have only one B&W of them in traffic.

Seen at Dawlish Warren on the 25th of April 1970 Warship D819 Goliath is on the 8C35 down freight service. The loco was withdawn on the 1st of October of the same year.

North British Locomotive Company Class 22 - D6343
D6343 at its home shed, Plymouth Laira MPD. The loco was introduced into service with the Western Region in May 1962 and was withdrawn at Laira in October 1971. The loco was cut up at Swindon Works in January 1972 having only spent 9 years and 4 months in service. The photograph was taken in July or August 1971 and scanned from the original slide.
