This sequence of work (primarily Kate Powell A Level Art sketchbook pages) shows experimentation with media and the exploration of compositional ideas. Artist influences are chosen cleverly: seamlessly integrating with her own aesthetic.
evidence of first-hand research, quick confident gestural drawings showing a response to this environment, and scrawled annotation, these sketchbook pages – showing the development of ideas for a sculpture entitled ‘Stone Egg’ – .
These sketchbook pages have a formal, organised, uncluttered presentation style, with a minimal use of colour. Items are positioned carefully, allowing each piece of the design process to be appreciated fully.
AS sketchbook: A grade AMANDA TREVIZO: It is always important to practice with different values of a color, especially with paints/watercolor. Students can use their sketchbook as a reference, I really enjoy the way this artist chose to box each color in.
