AWESOME!!!! "Tobu World Square in Nikko is one of the most unusual places I've been to in Japan. To call it a theme park or amusement park doesn't do it justice. It's a park where over 100, 1/25 scale, incredibly detailed models of famous buildings around the world are on display. Hundreds of bonsai trees are used for landscaping, and there are about 140,000, 7 cm tall people, all unique. Tobu World Square was completed in 1993 at a cost of about 150 million by the Tobu conglomerate..."

This video shows how a 9" Drum Style Bonsai Pot is thrown on a potter's wheel. This piece was thrown to almost 10" to accomodate for a nine percent shrinkage rate with approximately five pounds of clay. While it is being thrown, it is important that the bottom is compressed to prevent cracks during drying and firing. It is also important that a slight declining angle towards the middle of the pot is created to promote better water drainage in the finished pot.
