Texas History - Four Regions Foldable: This foldable is a great representation of the four main regions that students could make in class or within groups. On the inside, students could list the facts or interesting things about each region. This could be a great study tool for students to use when reviewing for a test or quiz over the Texas regions.

Texas Region Map. Divide the students into four groups. Have them research that regions natural resources, major cities and populations, Native American Indian tribes, vegetation, and much more. When research is complete, give them the section of Texas they studied. Have them decorate accordingly. Connect the four regions and place on bulletin board. I keep it up all year and we refer to it many time throughout the school year. The students learn so much with this engaging and fun activity…

I would use this as maybe a final assessment of students knowledge of the regions of Texas. This would help ensure that they are able to differentiate each region from each other.

Texas Regions Puzzle Map. In groups of four student will be given four puzzle pieces. (Take a large Outline of Texas and cut out the four regions) The students will then research and label rivers, major cities, natural resources, agriculture and livestock, physical and human characteristics, parks and land formations, and surrounding areas. I give them a grading rubric and list of elements they must label. Then they glue all of the puzzle pieces together to make the state of Texas.

In groups of four, students will be given four puzzle pieces. (Take a large Outline of Texas and cut out the four regions) The students could then label and research the various bodies of waters in that region and their significance on the region/state.
