Cuba has over 136 species of reptiles, and about of them are endemic. Over half of the reptiles, about 90 species, are actually lizards. However, the Cuban rock iguana tends to be the most prominent on the island.
Cayman Brac Rock Iguana, the largest (20 lbs) known endangered Rock Iguana in the Caymans named "S" died 15 June 2012. He was believed to be basking in the sun on the warm road, and hit by a speeding motorist.
