Like the passing of Noah’s ark through the waters of the flood, the crossing of the Red Sea was a type of baptism (1 Corinthians 10:1-2 and footnotes 14 through 23; Genesis 7:17-23 and footnote 171). The waters of the Red Sea were used by God to save His people and separate them from Pharaoh and Egypt. The children of Israel were saved through the Red Sea into the wilderness, a realm of resurrection and separation (Exodus 15:22 and footnote 1), where they were free from all bondage and…

A virtue mentioned in Philippians 4:8 is “honorable.” Honor means dignity. With God in His divinity, it is a matter of His glory, but with us in our humanity, it is a matter of honor or dignity. When Christ ascended to the heavens, He was crowned with both glory and honor (Hebrews 2:7) because He is a person who is both divine and human. In His divinity He received glory, and in His humanity He received honor and dignity. (The Experience and Growth in Life, ch. 15)

In His Ascension Christ was Crowned with Glory and Honor, and He was Enthroned by God

Knowing God can strengthen us. Many times we are weak because we do not know God. Our strength depends on the degree of our knowledge of God. Only those who know God will show strength and take action [Daniel 11:32]. To take action means “to expand.” Those who know God will be strong to expand their horizons and extend their boundaries and break new ground for God. On the earth today God needs those who would know Him in this way. (Crucial Truths in the Holy Scriptures, vol. 4, ch. 1)

The Lord’s recovery is not an ordinary Christian work; the Lord’s recovery is something from deep in the heart of God and revealed in His Word; our understanding and exposition of the Bible are different from traditional theology because we care for the desire of God’s heart, which He has shown to us from the Word. [Ephesians 1:5, 9; Philippians 2:13] God has shown us His heart's desire. We all must see this vision. When we see it, it will make us absolutely different. If we see the…

A minister of Christ is one who serves people with Christ, ministering Christ as Savior, life, life supply, and every positive thing to people. He differs from the teacher of the law and of other things (1 Timothy 1:7, 3). Being nourished is for growth in life, which is a matter of life; it differs from being merely taught, which is a matter of knowledge. To minister Christ to others requires that first we ourselves be nourished with the words of life concerning Christ. The words of the…

The helmet of salvation [Ephesians 6:17]...is for covering our mind, our mentality, against the negative thoughts directed at us by the evil one. Such a helmet, such a covering, is God's salvation. Satan injects into our mind threats, worries, anxieties, and other weakening thoughts. God's salvation is the covering we take up against all these. Such a salvation is the saving Christ we experience in our daily life (John 16:33). (Life-study of Ephesians, msg. 65)

In the Bible leaven signifies what is sinful, evil, corrupt, and unclean in the eyes of God. In 1 Corinthians 5:8 Paul speaks of the “leaven of malice and evil.” The flesh of the Passover lamb signifies the sinless life of Christ. We received Christ not only in His death and resurrection, but also in His sinlessness, for His life is not only a crucified and resurrected life, but also a sinless life. Therefore, we must eat the flesh of the lamb and also the unleavened bread. This means that…
