Teachers can personalize the anticipation guide depending on the topic they are teaching. At the beginning of the unit, this graphic organizer can be used to activate students' background knowledge and help them build curiosity about the topic. Through the unit, students read texts about the topic, and decide whether they change their mind of agreeing or disagreeing with statements listed on the guide.
Use to activate prior knowledge about topic before lesson. Write a statement, students agree or disagree with statement. Have students do it again to wrap up, gauge understanding.do students still agree or disagree after the lesson.
