AMERICAN COAT WORN AT FRENCH COURT, 1840 Black wool broad cloth tailcoat, velvet cuffs, pocket flaps & band collar all w/ gold embroidery, gold buttons stamped w/ eagle & surmounted by band "E Pluribus Unum", ivory silk moire lining, Ch 36", CF L 19", CB L 36.5", (minor moth damage & light stains on back) very good.
