It was a super moon because it turned full at the closest point to Earth in its orbit, known as perigee, appearing slightly bigger and about 14 percent brighter than normal. It was a blue moon because it is the second full moon occurring within the same month. And, most importantly, it was a blood moon because it passed through the Earth’s shadow in a lunar eclipse, which gave the moon a red hue. 2-1-18
