MEL BROOKS to receive the AFI Life Achievement Award.  AFI released announcement "Mel Brooks is America's long-reigning king of comedy...He's a master of an art form that rarely gets the respect it deserves and it is AFI's honor to shine a bright light on laughter." Brooks is best known for his comedy films including: The Producers, Young Frankenstein, High Anxiety and Blazing Saddles. The award dinner will take place June 6, 2013 in L.A. and broadcast on TNT and Turner Classic Movies.

The writer-director of "The Producers" and "Blazing Saddles" will be honored at a gala in June that will be broadcast by TNT and Turner Classic Movies.

I watch Turner Classic Movies all the time. The Classics are the best. They don't make movies today like they used to.

Saw this wonderful movie on my first date with my husband almost 40 years ago, and I've watched it at least once a year (or more!) every year since--it may be the best movie ever made!

As host of NBC’s The Tonight Show, Johnny Carson was the reigning king of late night for three decades.  TCM has licensed 50 classic interviews, which will spotlight legendary Hollywood stars—such as Bette Davis, Gregory Peck, James Stewart and Elizabeth Taylor—whose films are featured on TCM.  The "Carson on TCM" collection will begin airing summer of 2013.
