Parry's Penstemon- Penstemon parryi A species, and typical of Penstemon species plants, greyer and more woody, less floppy and much less tolerant of water than the garden hybrids usually called "Penstemon gloxinioides".
Evergreen bush/shrub slowly grows to about 4 feet tall and 6 feet wide. The flowers are bright red, tubular, to about 1 1/4" long, blooms April to November. The leaves are long and narrow stiff 3' to 4' long x 1 ¼" wide, gray green leaves from a central base, arch up and outward. Auction is for 6 seeds. I planted just one seed and in only a few days it germinated and is thriving! Listia rules apply. Listia verified addresses only please.
PLUMBAGO BLUE loves our heat and extreme humidity. Dad planted this at Pa's was beautiful.
The Only Shrubs You Need to Grow...I think this would really add to our dull yard. This is a picture of purple smoke bushe that ignites the border. Their stems grow straight up like pipe cleaners, a habit which makes them useful additions to any border in need of diverse forms.
