There is an island off the cost from Bar Harbor called Bar Island. At low tide, people walk on the sand bar to Bar Island. Better be careful though, the tide comes up fast and you might find yourself on Bar Island until the next low tide.
Clouds add such a nice dimension to any photograph. I especially love the blue sky peeking through the clouds and the peaks of Mount Katahdin. Mount Katahdin in Baxter State Park, makes its own weather pattern. One minute it is sunny and nice, and the next rain, or dare I say snow, will be coming down. From this vantage point overlooking Sandy Stream Pond, we can see how quickly the weather can change. A visit to Maine is not complete without at least driving through Baxter State Park.
