Photo: This Giant Petrel, with a 6 foot wingspan, was interested in seeing if I was edible. It made for a good photo but became less fun when I had three standing on me trying to poke holes in my drysuit.

It’s a species that’s only known from seven specimens collected in the Marshall Islands; they haven’t even given it a proper scientific name yet. Right now it just goes by Notobryon sp. e500.
