read it in college summer of 97 and could NOT put it down. I could totally relate, although to be honest I have never been overweight...still I certainly have been "put through the meat grinder."

A Great Read

I'm Italian & love to read about what life might have been like when my parents first came to America. This book touches on all those nuances of that time. I enjoyed it and so did my mom and sister.
