Stalingrad...In my opinion this photo was taken in 1942,probably in October or November just before the Winter and after the summer campaign of massive city destruction,which aimed to conquer the city.On the contrary,the Russian soldiers took full advantage of the city's new rubbel structure which helped snipers and other soldiers to hide before the enemy,making it very hard to be captured.Time was running out but fighting door to door battle overused both sides too much...

This picture shows German soldiers in a trench during the Battle of Stalingrad. It got my attention because it shows that some of the war tactics from have continued into which would be trench warfare as evidenced here
