(Adams Mill in Cutler, Indiana). John Adams, from Pennsylvania, found this mill site in 1831. He first built a sawmill and then a grist mill in 1835. The present mill was built in 1845-1846. Adams ran 4 sets of millstones powered by two turbines. The two turbines were set in the millrace below the mill. Today, the mill is a historical museum and is on the register of National Historic Places.
