Sourdough Starter with potato flakes. When I was much younger I was quilting one day with my husbands grandma Thompson, Little Grandma we called her and was so amply named because she was 4' 10 1/2" tall. She was darling, She used a potato water start that stayed on the back of her stove. She was born in 1891 and lived the old fashioned way. This is one I have used and it works.

In evening, take 1 C of starter to use in recipe. Refrigerate remain. Every 5 days, feed 3 tbsp potatoes, 3 tbsp sugar, 1 C water. If it's used in recipe, let rest room temp 6 hrs Not used, refrigerate & discard 1 C starter each…
