The Eagle Nebula "pillars of creation"

Pillars of Creation - Taken in 1995 by Hubble Telescope, forming in Eagle Nebula light years away. And it's about 4 light years tall! Personally, one of the most beautiful, inspiring and fascinating images I've ever seen :).

The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has captured the sharpest view yet of the most famous of all planetary nebulae: the Ring Nebula of the most famous of all planetary nebulae. A dying star has thrown off some of its outer material.

In the center of the Cat’s Eye there is a bright and hot star illuminating the surrounding nebula.

I wish I could see these in person. Why must astronomy take years of schooling? (The best astronomy photographs of the past four years)

This image is NGC 6543 known as the Cat's Eye Nebula as it appears to the Chandra X-Ray Observatory and Hubble Telescope. A planetary nebula is a phase of stellar evolution that the sun should experience several billion years from now, when i.

Tall Pano Milky Way Well, there were not too many shooting stars the other night for the #perseids Meteor shower. I was up in the Santa Cruz mountains. I wish I had a large burst going right through the middle of this. Funny pictures about Nighttime Space Shuttle Launch. Oh, and cool pics about Nighttime Space Shuttle Launch. Also, Nighttime Space Shuttle Launch photos.

Remember the “Pillars of Creation,” the star-forming nursery in the heart of the Eagle Nebula? You’ve never seen it like this.

According to NASA, this is a Hubble image of an enormous bubble being blown into space by a super-hot, massive star. This feature is called the Bubble Nebula. (Photo: NASA, ESA, and the Hubble Heritage Team )

A Black Hole Close-Up, and a Telescope as Big as the World - The Event Horizon Telescope will give astronomers an extreme close-up when our galaxy's black hole lights up.

A Black Hole Close-Up, and a Telescope as Big as the World - (Artist Concept) - What we can see of black holes is evidence of the destruction that they cause, dying stars putting up a fight, and the plasma jets that they belch out when they eat too fast!
