The Boise neighborhood house, 1865 This home at 35 N.E. Fremont St. may be old and have simple lines but there’s no denying it is in one of the hipper neighborhoods in Portland. It’s a stone’s-throw from the spanking-new New Seasons Grocery Store and all the taverns, restaurants and condos that have come to grace the area in recent years.
The James B. Stephens House, c This Italian Villa is now at 1825 S. but was originally on the banks of the Willamette River, due west of its current site, where it was moved in 1902 when the railroads needed room to expand.
These goats are being trained for use in Alaska during the rush for the Klondike gold fields. This photograph was taken on Morrison Street and comes from a 1904 booklet titled, In and About Portland Oregon.
