Pikes Peak State Park is one of the most photographed places in Iowa. With majestic views of the Mississippi River and beautiful views it is worth the tough climb to the top. The park covers nearly 1,000 acres and there are hiking trails and campgrounds to enjoy within the grounds of the state park.
One of the coolest places to visit is The swinging Bridge in Columbus Junction, Iowa. Also known as Lover's Leap Swinging Bridge. The ledge has it that a heartbroken Indian maiden jumped to her death in the valley below but no one really knows but the trees.
