Finished a very nice, little book about the history of Diamond Way Buddhism in Greece and the history of "Karma Berchen Ling", which is the retreat center in Greece. A impressive story with lot of obstacles they had to face in Greece, but in the end they prevailed.
Just finished the book „Buddhism and Business“ (Buddhismus und Business) by Meike Herzog. Really enjoyed reading it and like the idea of this book. It is a smart combination of a autobiography and introduction into Buddhism. Written in a modern, honest and open style. http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/3000484019/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1638&creative=6742&creativeASIN=3000484019&linkCode=as2&tag=hengfash-21&linkId=36YGRMQBHFDPTQRW
What a wonderful book, always return to it to get some inspiration for my nutrition. The Cookbook for Buddhist Retreats, based on the teachings of the Sowa Rigpa transmission by Amchi Anna Elisabeth Bach is not only a cookbook for Medicine Buddha Retreat, but in fact for every kind of Retreat. But even beyond that it gives a lot of inspiration for a nutrition at home, including really nice vegetarian meals. Some of these recommendations I was able to try during the Medicine Buddha Retreat.
Great new book with special quotes and amazing photos, also available in English. Feel grateful that I had the chance to help a little bit with the work on this book and that I was able to be a little bit useful for this project.
Finished the book „A Profound Mind. Cultivating Wisdom in Everyday Life“ (Die Essenz der Lehre Buddhas - Zeitlose Weisheit für moderne Menschen) by H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama. Enjoyed reading this book as it is a modern and fresh introduction into Buddhism. Like the modern style it is written in and the good explanation of basic Buddhist principles and teachings.
A dog is not considered a good dog because he is a good barker. A man is not considered a good man because he is a good talker.
Finished another book "Like a bird in the vast sky“ (Wie ein Vogel im weiten Himmel) by Kalu Rinpoche. It is based on lectures which were given by Kalu Rinpoche during his visit of Germany in 1982. It is really a little jewel, especially for those who would like to read a simple but deep introduction to the nature of mind. More at…
Trying a first recipe from our new cooking book "Buddha is cooking" (Buddha kocht). Something simple (or not) but surely better than any instant powder: my first real cooked Chai (Tea). Got some ingredients this morning from the Asian market. Already got a compliment from my husband "Tastes good" ;-)
Many years ago this book was my first "contact" to Buddhism, even before I started practicing Buddhism. "The Teaching of Buddha" is a book which I found many years ago in a really good Hotel besides the Gideon Bible at the side of the bed. It is from a Japanese Buddhist Society who wants to spread the teachings of Buddha. A little unusual as Buddhism is not really into missionary work. The book includes teachings of Buddha collected from the 108 books who include the 84.000 lectures of…
