Part 3 -3A: The food in Benin includes a lot of fresh meals that are probably cooked by women or girls. Meat is quite expensive, so vegetable fat is encouraged with a little meat, rather than large amounts of only meat. The most common ingredient is corn, mainly to make dough with peanut or tomato-based sauces. The most common meats used are fish and chicken, although others are also used.
