Time to share my secret... best homemade soft baked cookies EVER: 
1 1/2 c. flour (or more depending on your butter modifications),  1/4 tsp. baking soda,  1/2 tsp. salt (don't be afraid to "spill" a little extra),  1/2 c. butter (extra butter=extra good),  1 egg,  1 tsp. vanilla (over pour it, trust me),  1 c. brown sugar ( I mix in a little cane sugar too),  1 pkg. chocolate chips. Mix together and bake at 350°F for 12 minutes. Nom nom nom!!
