Mix together 1 quart of club soda and 2 tablespoons of liquid (do not use tablets) milk of magnesia. Put the mixture in the refrigerator for eight hours before you plan on using it. When cooled sufficiently, pour the mixture into a shallow pan large enough to lay the clipping flat so that the mixture covers it. Let the clipping stay in the solution for an hour.
