Shown during the 2nd WIP in class. I like how the reflections of the light brings a colourful cohesiveness and really adds to the feeling of depths.
Shown during the 2nd WIP in class. I like the different colours on the ground and how the dog creates a point of interest.
Shown during the first WIP in class. This was a strong image which pushed me down the road of slicing images in two. However the subject and colours didnt suit the later direction (not urban enough colourful and futuristic). I continued to play with this area as I shot. On a bigger series, I could have played with the contrast futuristic/past that contrasted in several of my shots which I think suits the essence of Chinatown.
Before after of one of my finals. I pushed the different in colour if the different lighting. To do so, part of my tools was the use of a cohesive split toning between all images (green and magenta)
Shown during the 1st WIP. I liked in this image the light of the widow and how it took half of the page and the yellow on the two bike rider.
Before/after of one of my finals. I enhanced the colour identity of each block of the image and brought focus to the character with the suitcase so the top left corner would have also interests.
Before/after of one my finals. I cropped the image to focus more on the main action. Enhanced the lighting from the left and from the shop in the street.
5th shoot, Edited I love how the guy block separates the different lighting while reminding us of my strongest image (the 4 slices). I also like how the family in pink gives a poetic and dreamy feeling which contrast with the harshness of the street. I enjoy this contest not only in color and brightness but in symbolism, especially since Im playing with the idea in my statement that chinatown is a mismatch of everything.
Shown during the 2nd WIP. I really like this images and its chaos structured by the colour and the white rectangle of the true. It also shows a concrete action which sets us in the busy atmosphere of Chinatown.
Shown during the first WIP i class. This is one of ;y strong image of the first week. I enjoy the line that this group people naturally crated. It also has the play with iconography and advertising that I've tried to use out of my inspiration Rony Soh.
Shown during the 1st WIP in class. I liked the light coming from the pub window. I also started playing in my editing with the enhancement of the colour of lighting (here to have this yellow coming back through the image). I have used this editing in my finals.
Shown during the 1st WIP in class. I really liked the action the girls were showing. As I reflect upon its it was probably not busy enough for what I wanted to accomplish.
5th Shoot. Edited. Like said on the similar looking image, I love it, but can't use it here.
Shown during the 2nd WIP in class. I was playing with colours and the idea of looking within, here in a shop. I've done several images during several sessions of this window shop but this is not going to be part of the finals.
Part of my 4th shoot. Edited version. This one is a tricky one: none of the characters really stand out (actually the guy in the ad is probably the one that stands out the most). However the overall color and light composition looks amazing and we really have 3 different strong slices of color. I also love how the red pinkish light doesn't seem to make sense but we can actually by looking closely it comes for the car almost completely hidden on the right.
