Romano-Egyptian Gnostic Haematite Intaglio 4th-5th century AD. An elliptical intaglio, slightly convex, with image of a hybrid creature (bird`s head, ram`s leg, dog`s head, curled tail) with pellet trefoils, a crab and other items in the field, inscribed text N/AXA/NA/TV`; to the reverse an undulating serpent with `AXA/NA` in seriffed capitals.
