Grumman F6F Hellcat "Minsi III"  (BuNo-70143) flown by top WWII naval ace and Medal of Honor recipient, Cdr. David McCampbell, aboard the USS Essex in October of 1944.  The F6F Hellcat was a rugged and powerful 'work horse' for the USN.  Introduced in late 1943, it accounted for over 55% of all Navy/Marine air victories.
