Art club looked at the artist Barry Flanagan's hare sculptures. They built armatures out of pipe cleaners, and then added clay around the pipe cleaners and left to dry. Then they painted them. They are joy personified.
Working collaboratively on art pieces for KS1 seems to work really well as creates a buzzy 'making' atmosphere. There is a sense of joy and surprise when the children see a form become three dimensional. Wish I had taken photos of the flowers as they were made!
