Cutting for Stone - Abraham Verghese - a great sweeping, dramatic novel of Indian brothers growing up in Ethiopia. Loved it!

If only this book had been assigned in HS English maybe I would have completed the book report.

I'm such a brainiac.... this is the perfect laying by the pool book drinking a summer cocktail! Soooo fun... as are all of Chelsea Handler books!

My horizontal life Chelsea Handler is so funny and very truthful when she talks about real people.but can ppl get her sarcasm too?

Identical - Ellen Hopkins has written many novels in verse. Many are part of a series, but this one is not. Definitely for high schoolers... about Kaeleigh and Raeanne who are identical, each with her own dark secret.

Identical: Kaeleigh and Raeanne are identical twins, the daughters of a district court judge father and politician mother running for US Congress. Everything on the surface seems fine, but underneath run very deep and damaging secrets.

She becomes deeply bonded to her new family, Lavinia is accepted into the world of the big house, where the master is absent and the mistress battles opium addiction. As time passes she finds herself perilously straddling 2 very different worlds and lives are at risk.

The Kitchen House ! The story of an orphan girl from Ireland who lives with the slaves on a tobacco plantation then moves into the big house where loyalties and betrayals collide.

Really belongs in the category, "Books that'll change your life."

Prince of Tides- Pat Conroy. I love this book a lot, another book of his, "Beach Music" is also really good.
