"Junagarh Fort" - Originally called Chintamani and renamed Junagarh or “Old Fort” in the early 20th century when the ruling family moved to Lalgarh Palace - One of the few major forts situated in Bikaner - The present day Bikaner has developed around the fort. The fort complex was built by Raja Rai Singh, the sixth ruler of Bikaner, who ruled from 1571 to 1611 AD. It was built outside the original fort of the city - Some remnants of the old fort are preserved near the Lakshmi Narayan temple.
Brij Raj Bhaven Palace, India: One of many European victims of the Sepoy mutiny in 1857 was Major Charles Burton. His ghost has been seen frequently, often in the drawing room where he was killed. He has been described as an elderly man who walks with a cane. During his nightly rounds the major has been known to slap more than one guard who he has found dozing off while on duty.
