Claire Windsor (14 Apr 1892 - 24 Oct 1972) - American silent film actress born Clara Viola Cronk in Kansas. She secretly married in 1914 and had a son in 1916, but her husband filed for divorce in 1920. Seeking to support her son, she moved to California and found employment in movie studios receiving bit parts before being spotted by an influential director. She was named a WAMPAS Baby Star in 1922. She became an fashion trend setter in the 20s. She was unable to transition to "talkies".
