rare color changing freshwater pearls

Here's a little color to brighten up your Monday Here's a hint on my plans for them.

Metallic Freshwater Pearls have amazing metallic lustre. The reason behind the metallic colors is not completely clear, but pearl experts say they could be the result of byproducts from newer Chinese hybrid shells—a combination of Hyriopsis cumingi and Hyriopsis schlegeli mussels. The metallic colors are more exotic than typical natural-color pearls in lavender and pink, and the luster exceeds that of many Japanese akoyas.

Abalone or Paua pearls-The pearls are natural pearls from the gastropod mollusk, Haliotis. Abalone pearls are found mainly along the coasts of California and Mexico, Abalone pearls come from the most colorful of all pearl-producing mollusks. They are iridescent calcareous concretions that are created by a univalve organism, the abalone.

I have never found any of these beauties but was sold a batch of these blue-green paua pearls from a certain gentleman who was atop a cod fishing boat
