SS Suva built by Bartrams of Sunderland for W. R. Carpenter & Co. Ltd, Fiji & launched 28/09/38(shown here undergoing sea trials. Ran timber from British Colombia & West Coast America to Australia & then carried goods & supplies to the Pacific Islands on her return journey. On 26/03/43 arrived Western Australia with most of her crew suffering from small pox. 5 were to die at Woodman Point Quarantine Station.Requisitioned in 04/43 she carried military supplies to New Guinea. Survived WW II

MS Changsa, built by Scotts Shipbuilding & Eng at Greenock for China Navigation Co(a wholly owned subsidiary of Swires) launched 02/11/48, with her maiden voyage from Melbourne to Asia on 23/07/49. 7,412GRT, 440ft length, 57ft beam 7 23.7ft draught. carrying 82 1st class & 70 3rd class passengers, her single screw powered by Doxford Diesels gave her a service speed of 15kts. Sold in '69 to Singapore based Pacific International lines & renamed MS Kota Panjang. Scrapped at Karachi in '81
